NHS Golden Jubilee’s Job Application Tips in 10 Easy Steps.

Tip number 1: Read the job description and person specification. The job description and person specification are what we use to shortlist candidates. Use it to match your skills, experience and qualifications for the role.

Tip number 2: Keep it relevant. Put most emphasis on the skills and experience asked for. Essential Skills required. Desirable skills required. Add anything else you feel is relevant.

Tip number 3: Tailor your application. Generic applications that are not tailored to the role will be immediately obvious to an employer. Generic applications can give the impression that you don't care about getting the role.

Tip number 4: Sell yourself. Using the right verbs helps to clearly demonstrate your action and its impact.

Tip number 5: Provide examples. Short examples help show the impact of your skills and experience.

Tip number 6: Take your time. Double check your details. Make sure there are no errors in your spelling and grammar.

Tip number 7: Follow the instructions. Remember, when using an online form, complete all the required information in the format asked for.

Tip number 8: Check your social media accounts. It is always a good idea to be aware of and control the image of yourself online.

Tip number 9: Don't delay. Sometimes our most popular vacancies can close early, so complete your application as soon as you can.

Tip number 10: Make sure you know the closing date. Please remember that applications cannot be submitted after the closing date.

We really hope this animation has been helpful. Should you have any questions, contact details can be found within the job pack for the vacancy you are interested in.
