Alistair Ewen
Senior Orthopaedic Research Coordinator
After gaining an MSc in Biomechanics, Alistair Ewen worked in and managed motion analysis labs in both universities and hospitals in Germany and the UK. He was awarded a PhD in Biomechanics in 2012 and joined the Golden Jubilee National Hospital as an Orthopaedic Researcher before being appointed to his current role of Orthopaedic Research Co-ordinator. In this role, he oversees all aspects of research within the Orthopaedic group, as well as having oversight of and a technical support role for the Motion Analysis Lab.
Hollie Leonard
Motion Analysis Lab Coordinator
Hollie Leonard qualified as a physiotherapist in 2010 and worked for a number of years in the NHS in Northern Ireland. She later moved to Boston, Massachusetts, to take the position of Research Co-ordinator for the Massachusetts General Orthopaedic Sports Performance Centre. Moving back to the UK in 2015, Hollie returned to Clinical Practice as a Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist prior to taking her current role in the Golden Jubilee Research Institute in 2017. In this role, she has day- to-day responsibility for the Motion Analysis Lab.
Artaban Jeldi
Orthopaedic Research Physiotherapist
Artaban Jeldi gained his MSc in Physiotherapy (Orthopaedics and Trauma) in India and followed this with a PhD in Physiotherapy and Physical Activity from the Glasgow Caledonian University in 2016. Between these he worked in Edinburgh and Sunderland as an orthopaedic physiotherapist. He has been in his current post as a Research Physiotherapist from 2014 where he supports the Orthopaedic Research Group in the various projects run within the group.
Kirsty Ohly
Orthopaedic Research Nurse
Kirsty Ohly qualified as a nurse in 2005 and spent seven years working in the Orthopaedic theatre department at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. She later moved to Vancouver, Canada, where she worked as a research assistant with the Prohealth Clinical Research Group. Kirsty joined the Golden Jubilee in 2015, working in our Orthopaedic theatres. In 2017, she took up the position of Orthopaedic Research Nurse.
