Joanne Kelly
Senior Interventional Cardiology Research Nurse
Joanne has 15 years experience as a Research Nurse, with an English National Board focused in Cardiac Nursing from City University, London. She started her nursing career in Cardiology over 20 years ago at the London Chest Hospital, where she gained invaluable knowledge and skills and a love of Interventional Cardiology. Returning home to Scotland in 2002, she started at The Western Infirmary in a newly created research post within Interventional cardiology and grew a portfolio of research studies aimed at including all patients coming through the cardiac catheterisation laboratories in a research protocol. As the Senior Interventional Cardiology Research Nurse at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital, she leads a team of six Research Nurses, currently running over 30 studies.
Anna O'Donnell
Interventional Cardiology Research Nurse
Anna qualified in 2004 in Canada and joined the Golden Jubilee National Hospital moving over to Scotland in 2007. She brings a wealth of experience having worked in Halifax and Detroit previously within womens health and care of the elderly. She worked within the Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratories for four years here at the Golden Jubilee prior to joining the research team in 2011. She has experience of running studies with a large patient cohort.
Alex Tewkesbury
Interventional Cardiology Research Nurse
Alex qualified in 2004 having studied at Glasgow Caledonian University . She was part of the medical rotation at Glasgow Royal Infirmary,for two years before moving to Cardiology and Coronary Care there in 2006. Inspired by the Optimal Reperfusion Service for the West of Scotland here at the Golden Jubilee, she moved to a post within the Coronary Care Unit here in 2008 and joined the Interventional Cardiology Research Team in 2014.
Fiona Teyhan
Interventional Cardiology Research Nurse
Fiona qualified in Glasgow in 2006 with a Diploma in Nursing, most recently joined the Interventional Cardiology Research Nurse Team after working for several years as a Research Nurse in both the NHS and private sector. She worked within the Glasgow Clinical Research Facility as a Cardiovascular Research Nurse and has experience working on commercial and academic studies.
Robert McDade
Academic Research Support Nurse
Robert graduated with BSc in Adult Nursing in 2006. He has had a varied career over the last 12 years. He started his nursing career at Hairmyres Hospital, working in Theatres, then Ophthalmology. He then moved to Interventional Radiology at Gartnavel General Hospital before joining the Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital. Robert has recently joined the Research Team and supports medical staff undertaking academic research studies.
