NHS Golden Jubilee and The University of Glasgow have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to further strengthen their relationship for the future of healthcare.

Building on the existing relationship between the 2 organisations, this MOU continues to build on the incredible track record of innovation, research and collaboration they have built over the last several years.

Originally signing an MOU with the University in 2018 to benefit medical science, this renewed commitment will continue to strengthen and build on this relationship, with the aim of continuing to support successful collaborative research, training and the advancement of knowledge and healthcare provision in Scotland and beyond.

The MOU will formalise joint collaboration on major scientific areas and disciplines of mutual interest.

Chief Executive of NHS Golden Jubilee, Gordon James, said: “We are thrilled to reaffirm our longstanding and highly successful relationship with the University of Glasgow.

“As a national Board, it is essential the NHS Golden Jubilee helps improve the care and treatment we deliver, whilst also helping to tackle the key health challenges in our areas of expertise.

“Our collaborations have led to some remarkable medical advancements and substantial benefits for both patients and healthcare professionals throughout Scotland.

“This renewed partnership will leverage the combined expertise and distinguished reputations of our organisations to continue innovating and shaping the future of healthcare delivery, not just within the NHS in Scotland, but on a global scale.”

Professor Iain McInnes, University of Glasgow Vice Principal and Head of the College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences, said: “We are delighted to be renewing our commitment to work in partnership with NHS Golden Jubilee. Our institutions have, for many years, worked hand in hand on world-changing research that has advanced knowledge as well as benefitting patients in Scotland.

“Going forward, we will continue to deepen our collaboration, focusing on our combined strengths in order to drive forward innovation in healthcare in Scotland and beyond.”
