Callum Blackburn
Callum was appointed in November 2020 as the Board's Whistleblowing Champion. He is an independent consultant specialising in the circular economy, climate change and waste management. He has held many positions in public bodies over the last 20 years. Most recently from 2013 to 2020 he was Head of Policy, Research and Evaluation at Zero Waste Scotland, responsible for overseeing a diverse range of policy development and research work on behalf of the Scottish Government. His previous roles also include managing the environmental health function at Falkirk Council and advisory work for the Scottish Environment Protection Agency.
Callum was also an external adviser to Standard Life Investment’s Ethical Advisory Committee from 2008 to 2017, providing advice on their ethical investment policy. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Waste Management.
