One year since their NHSScotland innovation leadership role was announced by the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Wellbeing, the Golden Jubilee has unveiled their new digital Quality Framework.

The Golden Jubilee Quality Framework provides assurance that safe, effective, person centred care is their top priority and delivered at all times through three key programmes of Governance, Quality Indicators and a Values Based Workforce.

The digital application allows staff to view and analyse up to date key indicators in quality, safety, performance and patient experience. The information can be seen by both staff and patients; it can be accessed at the touch of a button with the potential to view an individual ward, hospital, Board or across NHSScotland.

Jill Young, Chief Executive of the Golden Jubilee National Hospital, commented: “The highest quality healthcare organisations understand the need to make decisions on trusted organisation-wide data. This is not just for our Senior team - every nurse, clinician, doctor and manager can easily see their information, discuss as a team, and react quickly with informed decisions that improve quality of care and patient outcomes.”

Working with MicroStrategy Incorporated (Nasdaq: MSTR), a leading worldwide provider of enterprise software platforms, the Golden Jubilee currently has 200 quality indicators consisting of patient outcomes and experience, staffing, and performance metrics, which are available readily on site or remotely for those outside of the hospital environment.

Golden Jubilee patients have also worked with the hospital to establish what information is relevant for patients and visitors coming into the hospital. This has resulted in dashboards showing information such as falls and infection rates outside every ward and area of the Golden Jubilee.

Jill Young, adds: “As an organisation that believes in continuous improvement with a vision of leading quality, research and innovation in healthcare, we have already benefited from our quality framework. We are better able to understand and react appropriately to ensure that our patients have a safer, high quality experience within our hospital.

“More importantly, our Quality Framework can be adapted and used in a whole range of healthcare settings across Scotland. It provides an opportunity to ensure high quality healthcare for every person, every time, no matter your patient journey within the NHS.”
