Scotland’s premier conference and training venue has just appointed a top hospitality manager at its helm.

Gary Rice took charge of the four-star Beardmore Hotel and Conference Centre – one of only two Conference Centres of Excellence in Scotland – on 1 November 2012.

After completing an HND in Hospitality Management, Gary has spent 15 years working in various roles for Posthouse, Devere, Mint and City Inn Hotels and most recently the Hilton Group, where he was Food and Beverage Manager at the Double Tree in Leeds.

After working away for several years, Gary is excited to be returning to his home town to take on the challenge of running a high profile, successful hotel.

Gary said: “I’ve been lucky enough to work for some of the biggest hotel chains and I’m looking forward to bringing my knowledge and experience to build on the Beardmore’s excellent reputation as an outstanding conference venue.”

“I was brought up in Clydebank, so I know how highly regarded the Beardmore is within the local community. And I very much look forward to welcoming guests to our hotel, gym, restaurants or conferences soon .”

Bronagh Bell, Director of the Beardmore Hotel and Conference Centre, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Gary on board and look forward to working with him – I am confident that he will bring some fresh, new ideas to enhance the services that we offer our conference and leisure customers.”
