First meeting for National Hospital's New Chair
The NHS National Waiting Times Centre Board's new Chair will today (Thursday, 3 March) hold her first Board Meeting.
Jeane Freeman OBE was unveiled as the new Chair by the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Wellbeing in December 2010 and the ministerial public appointment was made in accordance with the Commissioner for Public Appointments in Scotland's Code of Practice.
Ms Freeman began her four-year appointment in January and will chair the Board meeting for the first time on Thursday 3 March.
She said: "I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to Chair the NHS National Waiting Times Centre Board and I am looking forward to working with the staff and colleagues across the NHS to ensure we continue to deliver a quality service for all of our patients and customers.
"As a public body, our Board Meetings are open to any member of the public and we look forward to welcoming you along whether you are interested in a particular area of our work, or just want to see how decisions are made.
"The Golden Jubilee National Hospital is a brilliant facility with a good track record in delivering quality patient care and the Beardmore Hotel and Conference Centre deserves its accreditation as a Conference Centre of Excellence. These are both hugely important assets to the NHS in Scotland I want to ensure they continue to provide added value in the years to come."
