Chair blog: a Christmas message
2014 has been a fantastic year for us at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital, the Beardmore Centre for Health Science and the Beardmore Hotel and Conference Centre, and it has been a privilege to be celebrating another Christmas as your Chair.
While for many of us Christmas is a time that we can relax and spend time with our families, for lots of our team Christmas is still a busy time, as they continue to work tirelessly to make sure we are providing the highest possible standard of care for every patient, visitor and guest that walks through our doors.
We know that Christmas is a difficult time for anyone to be in hospital, and our team work very hard to make sure that all of our patients are as comfortable, well looked after and happy as possible during their time with us.
If you, or one of your family, friends or loved ones, are staying with us at the Golden Jubilee this Christmas, we will also make sure that you are able to visit and spend time with them during the festive season. Our team are here to help so if you have any questions or concerns, please just ask.
Over the last year, we have made real progress in our commitment to leading quality, research and innovation thanks in no small part to our Beardmore Centre for Health Science (BCHS). The BCHS have been helping us lead the way in education and training, as well as participating in more clinical trials than ever before, as we are prepared to take on our first sponsorship role in a multi-centre, international, heart disease study in 2015.
The holiday period is also a very busy time for the Beardmore Hotel and Conference Centre, as they cap off a very successful year. During 2014 the Beardmore received the TripAdvisor Gold Award, picked up three VenueVerdict Gold Accreditation’s and were accepted into the prestigious International Association of Conference Centres (IACC), becoming the first Scottish centre to do so. They also became part of an elite group of businesses to have secured Investors in People Gold Accreditation.
2015 is set to be our biggest year yet, with exciting innovations and expansions taking place across all of our services as we continue to develop as a national resource for the NHS in Scotland and pave the way in quality, research and innovation.
This is only made possible by the constant effort and dedication of all of our staff, and our ongoing process of engagement and improvement with our patients, guests and service users.
On behalf of everyone at the Golden Jubilee, let me wish you all a very happy Christmas and a healthy, peaceful New Year.
