Delivering care through collaboration

This week, the Golden Jubilee announced the launch of Café Latte, a new not for profit, coffee shop to support their charity work, literally pouring profits back into the NHS in Scotland.

Situated in the conservatory within the Golden Jubilee National Hospital, Café Latte will provide patients and visitors an additional area to relax and take a break during visits, providing a brighter, larger, and more relaxed atmosphere.

Any profits from the cafe will be reinvested into the charity that supports the groundbreaking innovations and research work of the Golden Jubilee.

Chief Executive of the Golden Jubilee, Jill Young, commented: “The Golden Jubilee is a world leading specialist centre where patients and families receive the very best treatment and support. It is our aim through Café Latte to help make the patients’ experiences and that of their friends and family even more comfortable and welcoming.

“However, the significant difference will be the future support the cafe will provide the organisation. By ensuring that profits are reinvested in our charity, we will be enhancing the services of the Golden Jubilee to make a positive difference to patient care across Scotland.”

Café Latte will bring a host of other positive developments. As an NHS Board, it is important that the Golden Jubilee promotes a healthy diet. Therefore, their food and drink product range has increased to further support individuals healthy choices, while their commitment to the environment will be furthered with the greater use of Fairtrade coffee on site.

As a major employer in West Dunbartonshire, the Golden Jubilee will also continue to support the local economy by purchasing many cafe products and services from local suppliers.
